The resilience of our animal companions and their willingness to forgive never ceases to amaze us. Barney the Chow and Luna the Pitbull were both neglected, denied vet care by their owners and then abandoned. Barney’s ears were so severely damaged by years of untreated, chronic ear infections that he requires surgeries to both ears. Luna was abused, used as a breeder, and was near death when rescued. Thanks to great veterinary care and lots of love, Luna has been adopted and Barney is waiting for his forever family.
Cinnamon is a beautiful, playful young cat who was hiding her litter of kittens at an apartment complex known for its cruelty to cats. Volunteers easily caught the kittens, but when Cinnamon was trapped, a cactus spine had pierced one eye and the eye had to be removed. She has adapted to having one eye and is enjoying the domestic life of an indoor cat while awaiting adoption. Despite their suffering they are all sweet pets who deserve a life full of love and affection.
Your donations to Anthem Pets made these rescues possible. Every pet receives wellness check-up, vaccinations, microchip and are spayed or neutered, but as you see many require even more care. This makes veterinary services our greatest expense and fundraising priority.
Donations can be made online at links above, and also to the Anthem Pets account at Daisy Mountain Vet Hospital, which is our primary care provider. DMVH is located at 39508 N. Daisy Mountain Drive, Suite 178, and their phone number is (623) 551-8387.
